The figure springs forward with undeniable strength, desperate to escape the chaos of a past we cannot imagine. She has overcome the unthinkable to stride toward joy. The shift in emotion is presented as a figure where chaotic linework defines her delicate form. This visual contradiction is purposeful; a reminder to remain steadfast in our march toward good.

DESCRIPTION
In creating Unseen, we were inspired as much by the triumphant stories we’ve heard, as by the unimaginable ones we haven’t. In this drawing, her anonymity provides an opportunity for the viewer’s reflection. This figure is a celebration of strength; not only the strength of the girls at MRH, but also the strength of the incredible community who supports them.
This original work was sold at Fashioned for Freedom, an annual runway show and silent auction benefiting My Refuge House. Our wish is that this piece will endure as a gesture of hope for anyone who has ever felt unseen.
